Lakeside Park with the R Family

This little miss had a first birthday a few weeks ago, and that merited a photo session.  Her last session was while her daddy was at work, so Sunday afternoon we met up at the park to get first birthday shots as well as some new family shots.  The weather was perfect, and everyone looked great.  We knew it would be a fantastic day for photos.

 

A word about families: we love them.  We love watching everyone interact and hang out and enjoy an afternoon together.  We love seeing family resemblance and nuances.  We love watching little boys learn how to be big brothers.  We love watching baby girls become toddlers.  This is the story of the R family right now.

And the preceding shot?  It's a favorite.  How much fun is little man M running?  How yummy is the light?  Seriously, R family, you guys rock a photo shoot.

When we see families grow and change, we are reminded of how blessed we are to tell your stories, of moments and interactions and hugs and love.  We see so much love.  It looks good on you, R family.  Here's your sneak peek.  Can't wait to show the full set of proofs (and most especially the cake shots)!

And baby makes...

...four.  Four is busy.  We know that.  Amber has four.  I grew up in a large family.  So when one of our favorite families told us #4 was on the way, we were excited.  We also knew that baby Os session might be very, very busy.  That's why we love this shot... all four kids, together and happy and, well, busy...

This little love is darling.  She is one laid-back baby, taking everything in.  We are in awe of that head of hair!!!  We meet a lot of brand new little ones, and Miss O takes the cake in the hair department.

We have enjoyed photographing the W family for the last couple of years.  The elder little man W has grown into quite the kiddo.  He took a few minutes to warm up to us Saturday morning, but once we got outside, he played the model part quite well.

The ladies W are really lovely.  We know the adjustment from three to four can be a bit of a jump, but the Ws have taken it in stride.  How sweet are they?  We are so excited to proof through all of these images, but for now, enjoy the sneak peek!

This girl is going places.

Meeting seniors and hearing about their hopes and dreams always makes our day.  This young lady Is headed to OK on a soccer scholarship next year and is sure to go far.  She's easy going and friendly, enthusiastic and genuine.

Oh yeah, and she's photogenic as can be.  And talented.  If you were wondering, she's won a medal for her mad soccer skills.

How adorable is that smile?  Baby H is such a happy, laid back little man.  He was all smiles and laughs on Saturday morning, and his parents are in love with their boy. 

Here's a good plan for baby photos: put him on his parents' bed.  Then you get photos like this:

We couldn't help but smile as we shot these photos.  We knew we'd love them.  So much personality on that happy little face...

Family Reunion

We love it when families invite us to come along on days when the ones from out of town visit.  If it's a sunny day at the lake, that's an added bonus.  We also love it when each child's personality shines through...

This little miss wavered from sad (and how sweet is her big brother's attentive comfort?)...

... to happy (mostly when attached to Mom or Dad's hip... and oh so sweet)...

Everyone hung out and played and ran around.  Everyone loved.  All in all it was a good day, and though we have lots of shots of interaction that we love, there's just something about catching a moment with one sweet little miss... here's your sneak peek; can't wait to show the full set of proofs!

Little Man A

The smile on this little man's face is indicative of how he approached our whole session: with joy and laughter.  This kind of smile is what you see on a fella who knows he is loved.  He knows it, and we could see it.  His mom and dad are blessed, and they know it.  We could see that too.

We started out at the Arboretum Sunday afternoon and ended our day in Lakewood.  Both provided the backdrop for creating some stunning photos of our new friends.  We so enjoyed the session.  On days when we meet little guys who are oh-so-happy and their parents we marvel that this is our life.  That's how Sunday with Mr. A went.

coming soon: first-time parents

Watching two people get ready to become parents is something amazing every time.  Watching two people whose engagement and wedding were documented with your photographs is an honor.  We're anticipating watching this family grow in December.

In the meantime, we were excited to reconnect on Saturday, to observe the wonder of the baby bump L is carrying.  And we are thrilled with the photos we've seen so far.  The full set of proofs will be fun to show.

coming soon: big sister

This lovely little miss is getting ready to debut her role as big sister in just a few weeks.  She is busy and bubbly and sure to have lots of love to share with her family's new addition.  In the meantime, she's about as cute as they come.

Don't you think one of the best things in the world is boys who get to grow up together?  And if you are photographers who get to watch that process, you get to catch periodic glimpses of how they will play and laugh and wrestle, and, well it will make you smile every time.

We met these guys last year and followed up with them Saturday at the Arboretum.  We loved seeing how a year has grown them up a bit and can't wait to see how their story continues... Here's your sneak peek, S family, can't wait to show you the full set of proofs.

MA sessions: how much fun are (more) twins who happen to be some of our favorite people in the world

We've been photographing these guys since they were a brand new family, and they are amazing friends who I cannot say enough about.  The kids are utterly delightful: fun, joyful, smart and loving.  Their lives are full of warmth and love and laughter.

I love this shot so much.  They had run off, and then they were so excited to be together.  It was as if we weren't watching them.  Little kids who love each other are some of the best things in the world.

It was hard to choose a few photos to blog... you guys know you are some of my favorite people in the world, and I am thankful for your friendship and honored to get to tell your family's story time and again through photos.  Can't wait to show you the full set of proofs.
